Dog Training

A tired dog is a good dog! Spot On K9 Sports (www.SpotOnK9Sports.com) offers fun activities for every dog right here at South Town.  Choose from agility, obedience, puppy kindergarten, scent work, tricks and Canine Good Citizen, plus private lessons and in-home training.

Owner/head trainer Julia Lane is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (www.apdt.com), an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator (www.akc.org), a USDAA agility judge (www.usdaa.com), a Certified Trick Dog Instructor (www.domorewithyourdog.com), a Contributing Editor and blogger for The Bark (www.thebark.com), and a frequent contributor to Clean Run (www.cleanrun.com).

A long-time rescue volunteer, Julia specializes in dogs who demonstrate reactivity, fear aggression, shyness or noise sensitivity.  National and local media have recognized her experience and effectiveness as an instructor, including American Profile (“Canine Connections: Sport bonds dogs and human handlers,” Oct. 2011), the Daily Herald ("Is Your Pup Dogged By Loud Noises," 7/20/08) and Chicagoland Tails ("Readers' Choice Awards," Oct. 2008). 

Julia and her husband, Brian, share their home with a variety pack: two Dalmatians, a Dutch Shepherd, a Border Collie and two very tolerant cats in South Elgin, IL.
