Wellness Examinations
We recommend a complete
physical exam for your pet on an annual or bi-annual basis. Lots of
changes can occur from year to year, especially as your pet gets older.
Preventative health care recommendations are made based on examination
findings and your pet’s individual needs and situation,
which you help us to determine. This may include blood, urine, or fecal
tests, vaccinations, dietary or exercise advice, and life-style
changes.

Nutritional Counseling
Proper nutrition is
fundamental to your pet's well-being
throughout his whole life. Many illnesses can
be controlled or even prevented by what
your pet eats.
There are many
choices of pet food available. Let us help you
make the right decision for your pet.

Veterinary Surgery
Dr. Crittenden and Dr.
Tartof are trained in state-of-the-art surgical techniques should
your pet require a surgical procedure, and they continue to educate
themselves on the
latest techniques. We offer a full range of soft tissue surgeries
from routine spays and neuters to more advanced procedures.
We also maintain an extensive
referral service for those procedures requiring specialized training and
equipment.
On-Site Laboratory

Our on-site laboratory allows us to perform diagnostic lab testing to help us determine the best treatment plan for your pet's medical condition.
If we need to send your
pet's samples to an external laboratory, most results are received
within 24 to 48 hours.

Veterinary Radiology
Our convenient in-house X-ray
equipment allows Dr. Crittenden and Dr. Tartof to review your pet's films and make
treatment recommendations quickly.

Vaccinations
Vaccinating your pet against disease is an
important aspect of pet health care. Proper
vaccination can spare your pets from such potentially deadly diseases as rabies and distemper. At South Town Animal Hospital, we take a conservative approach to
vaccination protocols. Some vaccinations must be re-administered
periodically to protect your pets from diseases and keep them healthy
for a lifetime.
We will work with
you to evaluate your pet’s lifestyle, and develop a vaccination protocol
that is unique for your pet's specific needs.

Veterinary
Dentistry
At South Town
Animal Hospital, we can perform full service pet ultrasonic dental
cleaning and polishing (under anesthesia). We maintain a
referral list for more complicated procedures such as difficult
extractions and root canals.

We recommend OXYFRESH Oral Hygiene
products for your pet!

Ear Problems
We can quickly respond to
nasty ear infections which can be painful and even dangerous for your pet. You should have your pet's ears checked regularly to prevent potential ear problems.

Pet Eye Care
We perform routine eye
examinations to maintain your pet's healthy eyesight. We also do
testing to diagnose ophthalmic problems, such as glaucoma or inadequate
tear production ("dry eye").

Senior Pet Care
We offer a variety of
senior wellness programs to diagnose many conditions common to older
pets: heart conditions, diabetes, liver or kidney disease,
arthritis, glaucoma, dental disease, etc.
Our goal is to keep your
best friend healthy and comfortable for many more years through
early diagnosis and treatment.
